Our Physiotherapists are all highly trained and experienced with the modalities used to address your concerns. A short “painful” sensation may be triggered by working at a deep tissue level, however it will offer a longer sensation of relief. Generally, the experience will depend on your individual pain threshold, but most of our clients report some discomfort that eases straight away. Please inform your practitioner if you feel uncomfortable at any point in time nonetheless, and adjustments to the treatment will be made to better suit you.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please inform our team 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur a cancellation fee of the missed session in full.

Albert has been my physio since 2017, and has seen me through numerous injuries. As a CrossFitter, I am no stranger to niggles and injuries, but I would definitely not be doing CrossFit today if not for Albert. What impresses me most about Albert is his knowledge and expertise. As a competitive triathlete, I train a lot, sometimes up to 20 hours a week. Unfortunately, that load takes a toll on my body and the risk of injury can be high (Over the years, without the proper care and attention, I’ve suffered multiple calf tears and various other lower limb issues). Thankfully, Albert and his Team keep me in shape with a weekly Physiotherapy session. This typically involves a lot of deep-tissue massage and focussed dry needling. In addition to treating any niggles that I may have developed, Albert has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Biomechanics and Running form. For me, this is invaluable. My aspirations for 2022 are high – I’ve qualified for the World Half Ironman Championships and I want to be at my very best. I was referred to Albert in October 2020 when within a month I suffered a slipped disc (L3-4) and then had to have a total hip replacement at 57. I have always trained with weights and have been to more than ten physios over the years (some of which were very good), but Albert’s knowledge and curiosity goes two steps beyond anything I have ever seen (dry needling, cupping, sports-specific therapies to improve performance).
Over a period of six months he gradually brought me from the simplest of rehab exercises through to elite athlete exercises designed to maximise performance. The trick is to do what Albert says, religiously! Over that period I got into the best shape I’ve ever been in. My core is much stronger and I’ve noticed muscles I didn’t even know I had! I’m cycling faster and longer than I ever have, and I’ve lost 11kg. He even improved my golf swing.
Albert is about not just managing your pain but improving performance, and his practice is set up for that, with some of the most advanced equipment available on the market. And on top of all this, he really cares about his patients, and I count him as a true friend. Best physio I’ve ever met!

I first met Albert at another clinic where I was seeking treatment post my left ACL reconstruction . He took over my case when my main physio was traveling. At that time, I was anxious to get back to playing soccer and understandably impatient given that I tore my right ACL 8 years ago at that point.
With several injuries under my belt, I had been through quite a few different physios. Albert is a breath of fresh air. He listens and observes well. That combination allows him to diagnose quickly and to that point. Needless to say my left knee healed well and got stronger quickly.
What stood out with my treatment with Albert is his focus on getting me back into my game, in this case it was soccer. It wasn’t just about brute strength. He designed exercises for me to gain more confidence getting back onto the pitch. Initially, I was a little sceptical especially when he exclaimed: “ I am going to teach you how to run.”. I thought to myself: ”Mate, I have been running for over 30 years. I know how to run!”.
In a couple of sessions, he helped shaved my running time by 15%. At 44, I ran 5km under 23 mins. When I got back to my first soccer game, my peers noticed I was much faster and stronger than prior to the injury.

I dislocated my shoulder playing rugby around 10 years ago and it has since caused me problems while lifting weights and boxing.
I had seen many physiotherapists in the past, but they only really focused on reducing pain, rather than taking a holistic approach that would see me be able to get back to sport, without the injury causing me pain and possible re-injuries.
A friend of mine recommended that I see Albert two years ago and ATHOS Performance is now the only place I would ever go when I have any injuries or niggles. They are able to quickly identify I was muscle imbalances and not a structural issue that was the cause of my pain. After working with Albert and completing the prescribed exercises consistently, I went from being sure that I needed surgery, to being back doing overhead movements and boxing with no apprehension or pain.
